Biography

Bucky was born James Buchanan Barnes in Brooklyn on March 27th,1925, his mother died of cancer when he was ten and his sister was five. His father moved When he was fifteen his father died of an accident at Camp Lehigh. When his first day of kindergarten came around, he met a small Steve Rogers and the two of them became instant friends. Over the years, Bucky would get into numerous fights for Steve, sticking up for him. They hung out all the time, playing. When Bucky entered his twenties, he soon joined the Army. 

While away on duty, he had been captured by HYDRA, various tests were run on him until he and the others were set free by Captain America. 

Bucky fought along side his friend for several months, storming down HYDRA labs until they ambushed a train, and Bucky ‘died’ in a blast.

However, he landed in a river, where he was preserved until the Russians found him while searching for Captain America. They took him back to Moscow and fitted him with a bionic arm to replace the one that had gotten crushed in his fall, and unable to be saved. He also had brain damage with amnesia, he couldn’t remember anything from life with Captain and before. 

Bucky was put through training, even though he was already very skilled at hand to hand combat from training with Captain America. He was taught to hate everything about The West. He was essentially groomed to be the perfect assassin.

When he wasn’t on missions he was kept asleep, to preserve his youth.

He also trained and had an affair with The Black Widow.

Bucky was woken up in 2012 with the mission of killing Captain America, however, instead of killing Cap, he ended up regaining his memories.

Bucky Loves

- Calling people pet names.

- Chocolate. Particularly Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups.

- His weapons.

- Call of Duty: Black Ops.

- Training with Steve.

- Kicking ass.

- Sleeping.

Bucky Hates

- Himself.

- The Winter Soldier.

- When they put back on his arm.

- Getting his ass handed to him.

- How he doesn’t remember everything.

- Lying to Steve, though he’s gotta do it.

- Being called a grandpa.

- Turnips.

Bucky Broken Down

- Even though Steve brought back a good majority of his memories from before the train incident, he still doesn’t remember everything and a few spots are very fuzzy.

- Bucky has a bionic arm, which has some degree of superhuman strength (he can and has been known to crush necks), an enhanced reaction time, a sensory array which allows him to go through metal detectors. He can also hide other metallic objects such as knives and firearms. He also can discharge bolts of electrical energy from his palm. Extremely useful if he’s trapped. He has a red star on his bicep. Electromagnetic pulses can render his arm useless.

- He’s an extremely skilled scout, and marks man. He’s extremely good with stealth from his time both as The Winter Soldier, and with Captain America. 

- Bucky has a ledger book that is dripping in blood. 

- Will lie to Steve’s face if Steve asks about his years as The Winter Soldier. He’s too ashamed to admit how many people he’s killed. 

- Pretends to be the Bucky he used to be for both his and Steve’s sake.

- Looks to be about 25 although he’s really 87.

- Extremely paranoid, sleeps with a knife under his pillow.

- Fluent in English, Russian, and German. However, he often accidentally slips Russian into every day conversations.
